combines the best of the current framework of a competency based training regime with the practical, on-the-job training that existed prior to 1992.

The ITaB scheme gives apprentices completing the course an advanced carpentry qualification. It features a return to Polytechnic-based training for the theoretical parts of the trade with a renewed emphasis on practical skills provided by 8,000 hours a 4 year time-served qualification.

CBANZ has worked closely with employers and the Polytechnics to construct a course that addresses industry standards provide solid theory and provides extensive practical experience.

The ITaB scheme, while it may be longer than current apprenticeships, it gives apprentices a better range of skills to offer consumers. Consumers will know that our apprentices have the skill to complete a competent job. It is superior training in all respects.

The ITaB apprenticeship is available in most parts of the country. Cross credits are available to apprentices who are presently in existing schemes. Graduates receive a National Certificate in Carpentry/Construction - NCC. Leading Hand and Supervisor/Management level is available.

The all inclusive cost starts from $850 incl GST per year for students includes all training and onsite assessment fees including Polytechnic attendance fees and training manuals. There are no hidden costs.
